Ministerial Cabinet members have agreed to submit resignation letters in case the impeachment motion against President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski prospers, Health Minister Abel Salinas disclosed on Wednesday.

Salinas reaffirmed his loyalty to the Head of State —who invited him to join the Ministerial Cabinet— and to the people of Peru.

"Without a prior talk, all ministers agreed to leave office if the President is impeached," he told Canal N local channel.

State ministers were invited by President Kuczynski, but if he is removed from office, they will have "nothing to do, for sure."

Salinas believes the Congress will fall short of the votes needed for the impeachment.

Minister Salinas endorses the position of his peers Carlos Bruce (Housing), Jorge Melendez (Development and Social Inclusion), and Idel Vexler (Education), who said they will resign if the impeachment succeeds.

A group of legislators from opposition parties filed a new presidential impeachment motion —on the grounds of moral incapacity.

The aim is to remove Mr. Kuczynski from office for alleged links with Brazilian construction company Odebrecht.

As is known, a similar impeachment motion was rejected last December.
