Given the possible departure of Kasper Schmeichel, the starting goalkeeper for Leicester City in the Premier League, many fans are leading a surprising campaign on social media for the Foxes to sign Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.

According to French newspaper L'Equipe's website, the experienced 35-year-old Danish goalkeeper might have accepted an offer from OGC Nice in France, which might prompt Leicester to find a replacement for him.

Within this framework, a group of fans started a campaign on Twitter with the hashtag #GalleseALeicester (Gallese to Leicester) to draw the attention of the club and, therefore, promote the arrival of the Octopus in the British League.

"If you want a great goalkeeper, then #GalleseALeicester," "A great goalkeeper!" and "Pedro Gallese is the man! #GalleseALeicester" are some of the phrases that can be read on this social network.

The hashtag quickly went viral, placing itself among trends last Friday.

The British team is the second important squad to which the Peruvian goalkeeper is linked. Some media outlets also said he might be signed by Argentinean club Boca Juniors.

32-year-old Gallese —the undisputed starter for Peru's national soccer team and Orlando City at the MLS— had great performances at the South American Qualifiers defending the Peruvian team.

In addition, fans in the North American league recognize the efforts of the Peruvian goalkeeper while on the field.
