The Peruvian Government, through its
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Sunday expressed hope for the prosperity and wellbeing of the people of Azerbaijan on its Independence Day.
Likewise, it reaffirms its willingness to continue strengthening the ties of friendship for the benefit of both countries.
The congratulatory message was posted on Twitter by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Azerbaijan declared its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
Its economy depends on the hydrocarbon sector, which is responsible for more than 80% of exports, generates half of revenues, and contributes 38% of the country's GDP.
