has called a special session of the Council of Ministers for Thursday in order to work on a preventive action plan in the face of a possible coastal El Niño Phenomenon.
In a post on Twitter, the
Presidency of the Republic stated that this decision was taken after the
Multisectoral Commission in Charge of the National Study of the "El Niño" Phenomenon (Enfen) changed the status from 'vigilant' to 'alert' mode.
"Our priority is to protect Peruvian families, especially the most vulnerable, and to be prepared," the Executive Branch said on Wednesday.
