Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola met with
Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) Secretary-General Alexandra Moreira in Brazil, within the framework of his visit to said country in order to participate in the Presidential Summit of South American Countries.
"Our countries must strive to raise more funds, centralize work, and strengthen this institution. You can count on Peru to do so. The Amazon is a fundamental territory for implementing the guidelines of the Government's General Policy," Otarola said at the meeting.
"The Government of President Dina Boluarte has decided to provide a political analysis of the Amazon development and to acquire a South American perspective to face hydroclimatic threats," he added.
The
Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) is an intergovernmental organization made up of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela, which are signatories to the Amazon Cooperation Treaty (TCA).
