The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday participated in the launch of the soup kitchen called 'Micaela Bastidas' and the "Cooking with Fish" (Cocinando con Pescado) initiative, within the framework of the A Comer Pescado (Let's Eat Fish) program, in Lima's Villa El Salvador district.

The Head of State visited the soup kitchen, where she cooked together with the leaders of the place, using fish to feed the population in the area.

"Thanks to CALIDDA —the entity responsible for the natural gas distribution network infrastructure— and the agreement held with the Ministry of Production (Produce) and the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis), soup kitchens are using natural gas," she remarked.

"We have to continue to make progress, not only to enhance soup kitchens, but also the budget," the country's top official added.

In this regard, Mrs. Boluarte pointed out that anemia can be addressed with a better diet.

The dignitary also visited an information fair and workshops located in the area, joined by Production Minister Raul Perez Reyes and Development-Social Inclusion Minister Julio Demartini.

According to the Presidency of the Republic, both activities were carried out within the framework of the institutional cooperation agreement with CALIDDA.
