The Peruvian national soccer team has arrived at a hotel in Doha where athletes received a warm welcome from Peruvian fans who had waited hours to see their idols, as they will seek this Monday to win the playoff against their Australian counterparts to claim the penultimate tickets for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Following a long wait, which even required two hours of sitting inside an aircraft at Barcelona's El Prat Airport, the Peruvian squad reached the "bunker" where the delegation will plan the strategy to be implemented during the upcoming game against the Socceroos.

Earlier on Friday, the team had completed its last training session prior to the trip.

Led by Argentinean coach Ricardo Gareca, training at San Cugat High Performance Center consisted of tactical work.

Similarly, Gareca has scheduled training sessions in Qatar for June 11 and 12, so that the Blanquirroja (Red-White Team) remains focused on the highly-expected match against the Socceroos set for June 13 at 9:00 p.m. (local time).

It should be noted that one day prior to flight to the Qatari capital, the Peruvian squad trained at Sant Cugat High Performance Center. At the site, there was also an atmosphere of great optimism among the 28 players called up for the upcoming event.
