As of June 2022, more than 12 million Peruvians over the age of 18 access YouTube, and on average each person watches more than 50 minutes of videos a day, the Google video platform revealed during the new edition of Brandcast.

During the annual event, which brings together advertisers, artists, users, and creators, YouTube presented the main video trends of 2022 in Peru.

In this regard, according to a study by Ipsos, YouTube is the best platform to search for relevant content in the country.

Present in Peru for more than 10 years, YouTube has cemented its place as a tool in people's everyday life.

With more and more viewers turning to streaming, YouTube has the ability to bring the best content to all devices and even bring it to the living room.

In fact, Smart TVs and steaming are key elements for the growth of YouTube this year and, in Peru, more than 5.5 million people watched YouTube content on their TV screens.

Quality content

Nowadays, Peruvians have more options than ever to watch what they like the most; however, when it comes to watching quality videos, YouTube is the answer: 98% of local viewers say they can find good content there, while 82% believe it showcases unique content that cannot be found anywhere else.

Likewise, YouTube is considered a platform to find resources for learning: 91% of viewers affirm that it helps them learn something new, whereas 86% agree that it offers intellectually stimulating content.

With this, it can be clearly seen that YouTube is where creators find engaged audiences: 88% of Peruvians are excited to find the next content of a show or creator on YouTube.

Thus, the approach that creators give to their videos becomes essential for users.

The event also featured Peruvian YouTuber Katy Esquivel, better known as What The Chic, as well as Gabriel Mena, the content creator behind "Cholo Mena." They both shared their experiences during the last 11 years.
