The President Peru, Jose Jeri Ore, leads this morning a meeting entitled "Security for Growth" with business associations to promote a favorable investment climate, competitiveness, and economic growth.
In the above mentioned meeting, also participate the President of the Council of Ministers, Ernesto Álvarez; the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Denisse Miralles; Defense, Francisco Díaz; and Justice and Human Rights, Walter Martínez; as well as representatives of business associations.
During his remarks, the President of the Council of Ministers, Ernesto Alvarez, emphasized the essential role of the private sector in job creation and investment.
“It (the private sector) is essential to advance economic recovery and reduce social inequalities. We are convinced that in a stable environment and with cooperation between the State and businesses, Peru can boost its growth and provide better opportunities for all,” he said.
“The Government of Transition and National Reconciliation, presided over by Jose Jeri, has undertaken a concrete task: to leave the country in order, with fiscal discipline and a clear direction,” he affirmed.
“We are aware that the economy needs predictability, that markets require confidence, and that citizens demand tangible results,” he added.
Likewise, the head of the Cabinet reaffirmed respect for the fundamental principles of the Constitution: free markets, private initiative as the engine of development, the subsidiary role of the State, and the autonomy of the Central Reserve Bank as an essential guarantee of monetary stability and inflation control.
“These principles have allowed Peru to grow and remain resilient in the face of external crises. They have been the foundation of progress over the last few decades and will continue to be the pillars of our development. Therefore, we want to be clear: respect for legal stability, clear rules, and signed contracts is an unwavering commitment of this government,” he explained.
“Certainly, as has already been pointed out, time is short to undertake major reforms, but we have set out to move forward with unblocking and ensuring the continuity of major infrastructure projects. These projects represent thousands of jobs and a direct impact on national productivity and competitiveness,” said the head of the Cabinet.
