The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru)
, through Brand Peru, presented the winners of the Peru Jam contest —an initiative that created a space for young people from all regions of the country to develop their own video game about the various tourist attractions that Peru has.
"Peru Jam is part of a strategy through which we have sought to foster creativity and innovation among the younger generation. After launching Brand Peru 12 years ago, we are committed to bringing the new generations of Peruvians closer to our country's brand, a symbol of our pride and identity," says Angelica Matsuda, executive president of PromPeru.
In addition, this Saturday, after an intense session held at the Claro Gaming High-Performance Center, the first place was taken by Matias Arriola. The second place went to Romulo Morales, and the third to Gabriel Macha.
The top three received prizes such as computers, high-end peripheral headphones, tablets, gamer chairs, and more.
The jury was composed of Kioshi Shimabuku (cultural manager in Minecraft), Phillip Chu Joy (TEC presenter), Rizi Senpai (Claro gaming ambassador), Juan Pablo Leiva (representative of Samsung), and Daniel Cavero (head of the Office of Image and Country Brand Strategy at PromPeru).
Peru Jam had the support of companies Claro, Samsung, and Logitech.
About Peru Jam
In the context of the twelfth anniversary of the launch of the country brand, Peru Jam was presented in June this year with the slogan "Peru, a country of infinite gifts," and students aged 12 to 16 were invited to register and answer the following question: How would you represent Peru's attractions interactively in a video game?
From the best answers of 400 participants, 100 were selected, who received free training in designing game experiences through programming tools and techniques.
Ten of them made it to the final, which took place last Saturday, August 19th.
