13:00 | Arequipa (Arequipa region), Jun. 11.

Agrarian Development and Irrigation Minister Federico Tenorio on Friday highlighted the arrival of a medical brigade and Health Ministry (Minsa) officials, who will reinforce the health response in Arequipa —a region affected by the increase in COVID-19 cases and the appearance of a confirmed Delta variant case.

The Cabinet member led the ceremony to welcome the delegation at Alfredo Rodriguez Ballon International Airport in the White City.

Led by Deputy Benefits-Health Insurance Minister Bernardo Ostos, the Minsa team is expected to reinforce the health response to the increase in COVID-19 cases over recent days.

Minister Tenorio affirmed that the Executive Branch's actions are to strengthen the vaccination process against coronavirus in the region, adding that support will continue being provided to the zone thanks to the deployment of brigades to intensify the immunization process.

In this sense, planning involves sending a greater number COVID-19 vaccine doses to the area.
