Peru: Junin region vaccinates 90% of adults aged above 80

The Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) of Junin is completing the immunization of 90% of older adults against COVID-19 in the districts of Concepcion, Quilcas, Hualhuas, San Jerónimo, and San Pedro de Saños.


Meanwhile, at the level of other provinces, the vaccination of octogenarian population goes on until next week when the administration of 100% of vaccine batches is expected to be completed.

Between May 10 and 11, a total of 443 people over 80 years of age in Concepcion district were immunized at the Municipal Coliseum or former bullring.

Likewise, elders were immunized in the districts of San Jeronimo (321 people), Hualhuas (117), San Pedro de Saños (123), Quilcas (128), and other districts belonging to Huancayo Province.

Last week, people over 80 years of age in various districts of the central jungle and high Andean areas were vaccinated with 9,360 Pfizer doses.

This immunization was carried out through the Health Networks. Citizens were vaccinated in: Chupaca (912), Jauja (1,332), Chanchamayo (1,440), Pichanaki (774), Satipo (432), Pangoa (384), and Tarma (1,410).
