Peru PM expresses condolences over ex-President Garcia's death

Peruvian Prime Minister Salvador del Solar on Wednesday expressed his condolences over the recent death of ex-President Alan Garcia.

Via Twitter, the cabinet chief sent his condolences to Garcia's family, loved ones, and APRA political party members.

Former Head of State Alan Garcia, who served twice as President of Peru, has died in Lima at the age of 69 over a self-inflicted shot to the head.

The ex-Head of State on Wednesday morning shot himself after authorities arrived at his home with a 10-day preliminary detention order against him linked to the Odebrecht corruption case investigation.
