Peru PM visits Madre de Dios region to monitor COVID-19 response measures

Peruvian Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos on Sunday arrived in rainforest Madre de Dios region to supervise the measures implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The President of the Council of Ministers is joined by Ministers Fabiola Muñoz (Environment), Gloria Montenegro (Women and Vulnerable Populations), Martin Benavides (Education), and Alejandro Neyra (Culture).

The delegation will take part in the establishment of the Indigenous COVID-19 Command and brings 3 tons of personal protective equipment and medications.

Additionally, 5,000 rapid tests, 10 oxygen concentrators, 5 high-end RCC ventilators, and 5 zoll transport ventilators will be delivered to help contain the virus in the region.

Via social networks, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers posted a video on the activities under its leadership for coordinating actions and curving the spread of COVID-19.
