Peru: Presidency laments Constitutional Court member's death

The Presidency of the Republic on Tuesday lamented the death of Constitutional Court (TC) magistrate Carlos Ramos and expressed condolences to his relatives and loved ones.

"The Presidency of the Republic laments the death of Constitutional Court magistrate Carlos Ramos Nuñez. We extend our condolences to his family, friends, and the juristic community," it expressed via Twitter.


Similarly, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights stressed that Ramos was a prominent jurist, writer, teacher, and magistrate.

"Faced with this irreparable loss, we extend our condolences to his family, loved ones, and the country's juristic community," the ministry said.


Likewise, Congress Chairwoman Maria del Carmen Alva lamented the death of the magistrate.

"I express my condolences to the family and (other) relatives of Constitutional Court magistrate Carlos Ramos Nuñez. Strength and resignation in this difficult moment," she wrote on Twitter.
