The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Tuesday delivered 21,990 AstraZeneca vaccine doses to the rainforest city of Pucallpa for the startup of the immunization of older adults in Ucayali region.

"Today, we start to bring hope to more regions of Peru," he said in a video message shared via social media.

The Head of State specified that —during the vaccination campaign—Pfizer vaccines have been delivered to six regions, namely those that relied on the necessary cold chain.

"Today, we are starting to distribute the vaccines to all regions of the country. I am bringing 21,900 doses to Pucallpa, and soon I will do the same in Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Piura, and Tumbes; we are distributing AstraZeneca vaccines," he highlighted.

The top official reiterated that the Transition and Emergency Government's efforts are huge to ensure that everyone is immunized before the end of 2021, starting with senior citizens.
