As part of activities for the 13th anniversary of the Ministry of Environment, the President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti inaugurated the comprehensive waste management system in the city of Huaura.

"The comprehensive waste management system is one of the emblematic projects to commemorate the Bicentennial, as a sign of citizenry and an example of joint efforts to improve the living conditions of all Peruvians," Mr. Sagasti expressed during the event.

According to the Head of State, this is an example of creating a healthy environment for everyone.

"Thus, we ensure that the future generation benefits from this type of initiative. As citizens, we have the right to live in a healthy environment," he pointed out.

Moreover, the top official affirmed that developing projects —which help protect citizens, improve their quality of life, and generate jobs— "are a clear proof that we can advance towards sustainable development with clean cities in Peru."
