Peruvian soccer stars Paolo Guerrero and Pedro Gallese have been nominated to become members of the Once Ideal de América 2019 (Americas' 2019 Ideal Team) that will be published by Uruguayan newspaper El Pais.

This modality has helped to select the continent's best soccer players and coaches since 1986.

Paolo Guerrero (Internacional-Brazil), Gabriel Barbosa (Flamengo-Brazil), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (LA Galaxy-U.S.), Alan Pulido (Chivas-USA), and Marco Ruben (Athletico Paranaense-Brazil) are the nominees in one of the two Best Forward categories.

For his part, Pedro Gallese (Alianza Lima-Peru) has the chance to become part of the Dream Team as the best goalkeeper in the Americas. Outstanding players such as: Franco Armani (River Plate-Argentina), Esteban Andrada (Boca Juniors-Argentina), Leo Burian (Colon de Santa Fe-Argentina), and Gabriel Arias (Racing Club-Argentina) are competing in the same category.

About

Since 1986, Uruguayan newspaper El Pais has been selecting the best soccer athletes and coaches of the Americas to recognize them. In order to receive this prestigious award, they have to win the votes of more than 300 journalists from the continent.

However —over recent years— fans have also the opportunity to choose their favorite players. It is worth emphasizing the selection will be done via polls.

If you want to support one of the Peruvian nominees, click here to enter El País and vote.
