Peru's President arrives in U.S. on working visit

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Sunday afternoon arrived in the United States to participate in the Session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the High-Level General Debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Upon arrival, the Head of State was received by Permanent Representative of Peru to the Organization of American States (OAS) Harold Forsyth.

Mr. Castillo's working visit in this North American nation will start tomorrow, September 20, in Washington D.C., with his participation in the Session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS).

Upon arrival, he will be received by Secretary-General of the aforementioned hemispheric organization Luis Almagro.

During his stay at the OAS headquarters, the Peruvian leader will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Maurtua.

Also in Washington D.C., the agenda includes meetings with Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Director Carissa F. Etienne, as well as with Peruvian and U.S. entrepreneurs from the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).
