The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday reiterated that Phase 4 of the Economic Reactivation begins on October 1, which includes the resumption of activities and the expansion of capacity for already-authorized activities.

"A new month begins tomorrow. October starts and the Economic Reactivation's Phase 4 kicks off. As we announced last week, there will be some changes so that productivity, the economy, and job creation for Peruvians can be streamlined," he said.

The Head of State explained that the capacity of some businesses will be expanded, but in a fairly responsible manner.

"The stores, which used to be allowed to host 50% of the total amount of people, for which they had been built, can now welcome 60%. Restaurants' capacity is rising from 40% to 50%," he indicated.

"Those activities will resume in due course, but this decision has not been made yet; please, respect the restrictions that are still in force for the sake of the health of all Peruvians," he said.

Today's remarks were made in a press conference held at the Government Palace in Lima.

President Vizcarra was joined by Prime Minister Walter Martos and other Cabinet members on the occasion.
