Peru's President meets with PAHO Director in U.S.

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Monday met with Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Director Carissa F. Etienne in Washington D.C. (U.S.).

The meeting allowed discussing different topics related to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the activity —as part of his visit to the United States— the Head of State was accompanied by Health Minister Hernando Cevallos and Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Maurtua.

Mr. Castillo's working agenda in the United States —within the framework of his first visit to such nation— started on September 20, with his participation in the Session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington D.C.

To that end, the Peruvian top official arrived in the United States on Sunday, after his visit to Mexico, where he participated in the VI Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
