The
"Safe Tourism" national strategy —developed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur)— has received the Travellers Awards prize in Spain for its transcendence while seeking to ensure a safe travel experience for tourists visiting Peru.
The Spanish media outlet
Periodista Digital bestowed the award, which was handed over to Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez, who is in Madrid to attend
FITUR 2020 —the major tourism event in the above-mentioned country— along with 20 Peruvian exhibitors.
Minister Vasquez thanked for the award and remarked —in a brief speech— that 2019 was a good year for Peru in terms of international recognition.
"Besides, various regions in Peru have been regarded as must-see travel destinations in 2020, as is the case of
Arequipa,
Lima, and
Cusco," he underscored.
